Taking the first step toward working on your mental health journey is brave, and I am so proud of you for taking the time to research and look after yourself.
My name is Lauren Meinelt, and I am a Registered Mental Health Intern with over a decade of experience working as a clinician. I also have extensive coaching and consulting experience and understand the challenges you may be facing. As of 2023, I have also added counseling to my list of expertise, further equipping me to support you on your journey.
Additionally, I work as a Mental Health Facilitator for Volusia County Schools. I specifically love working with teachers and assisting clients who are parents/guardians of children with IEP, 504, or BIPs.
One of the most important things to remember in life is that becoming an adult is a huge step. That is why I love working with newly graduated students. It may seem scary to get out there and discover yourself, but that's why I love to help people feel less alone along the way. Everyone deserves positive guidance and someone they can trust to talk to.
People come from different backgrounds and have dealt with very specific issues growing up, such as religious trauma. Certain life decisions stem from childhood, trauma, mental health-related issues, and deeply buried emotional battles. This can often cause an overwhelming sense of guilt or remorse, which is why accountability is also important. We need to face the past and present to work on ourselves.
With time and open communication in a safe and non-judgmental setting, I will help you work toward your goals, explore new and exciting opportunities, and help you emotionally grow and thrive. Understanding your needs will allow me to find the right approaches, such as choice theory, REBT, person-centered, solution focus, and CBT, for its Socratic approach.
Overall, I am determined to help you accomplish the life you want to live and how to accept what you can and cannot control. As your guide, I am here to navigate the process of creating the change in your life that you want to see. I know that life can be exhausting, overwhelming and mentally draining. There is no shame in seeking help, and again, bravo to you for taking the first step and doing your research.
Remember that you are the captain, and I'm here to help you during the storms, the calm tides, and every harbor we might have to stop to reach our destination.
