Empowering You to Achieve Happiness

Elizabeth Romano, MS, LMHC

Welcome to your journey of healing and self-discovery. I am here to help you explore and unpack areas of your life that you may find challenging, confusing, or overwhelming. Please come as you are.

I am a dedicated and compassionate therapist committed to empowering my clients to lead fulfilling lives. I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship and strive to create a safe, empathetic, and supportive space where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment. My areas of specialty include religious abuse, addiction, anxiety, life transitions, stress/burn out, and adult children of emotionally immature parents. As an openly queer therapist, I am also passionate about helping those in the LGBTQIA+ community. By recognizing the role trauma may play in a client's life, I employ trauma-informed care that is sensitive and respectful. With a comprehensive approach to therapy, I integrate this trauma-informed care alongside Person-Centered Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

Through Person-Centered Therapy, I aim to foster self-discovery, self-acceptance, and empowerment to help my clients find their own paths to healing and resilience. By incorporating mindfulness techniques, I help my clients develop greater awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations, which can cultivate a sense of presence, stress reduction, and enhance overall well-being. Through CBT, we’ll work together to identify and challenge unhealthy patterns, helping my clients develop healthier ways of thinking, coping, and making meaningful changes.

I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Central Florida in 2015. I then obtained my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Stetson University in 2018. I obtained licensure in 2020 and am licensed in the state of Florida. I am a Qualified Supervisor for Registered Clinical Mental Health Counseling Interns and am currently accepting new interns. Separate from schooling, I have work experience in private practice settings, crisis stabilization units, inpatient substance abuse facilities, school settings, abuse advocacy centers, and medication-assisted treatment centers.

Who am I outside of being a therapist? My wife and I are pet moms to two cats who act more like dogs than cats (Hazel and Francis) and the most social turtle (Trudy) that you will ever meet. I enjoy days at the beach or adventuring through the mountains just as much as staying home and watching a new docuseries. You can always find me at a market; farmer’s market, oddities market, vintage market, I’m there. I enjoy yoga, meditation, and learning

about holistic wellness. Brunch is my favorite meal and fall is my favorite season. I look forward to getting to know you!
